    Uses Notes:

Toucan ar great plants for use as the thriller in large combinations, they also do very well grown alone in containers.  They are fantastic landscape plants and lend a tropical feel to gardens in any locale.

    Maintenance Notes:

In containers an application of controlled release fertilzer should be sufficient for the season, but supplementing with a water soluble plant food starting mid-summer can keep them performing at their best.

In landscapes, the controlled release application at planting should be enough to last all summer.

Water needs are simple and the plants are quite adaptable, even tolerating standing water for short periods of time.  They can also take periods of relatively dry soil, although consistent moisture will produce the very best plants.

    • Beautiful plant! However, I live in zone 7A, high desert. Put this out in my container and within a day, the leaves got scorched. Plant says part/full sun; however, it cannot handle the sun in my area. So beware. I dug out of container and put in an area that gets more shade. Hopefully it will be happier!

    • Toucan Coral - Canna Lily was a powerhouse in my container garden from late spring to early fall. It does require deadheading frequently. The spent blooms are not attractive. I fed this canna lily every week with PW liquid fertilizer.

    • This one is a spectacular showstopper! Rich coral blooms form lavish bouquets on slim, graceful stalks. The dramatic coral blooms seem to float over a thick array of broad, medium-green leaves. This inherently problematic, sandy bed sits in full sun beneath the roofline. Good drainage is essential when rainfall sheets off the roof edge. The entire neighborhood enjoys this spectacular display from spring into fall. It's hard to top the abundant beauty of this generous, trouble-free bloomer.
